A National Offender Workforce Development Partnership has been established between Federal Government, local agencies and national organizations to provide overall assistance and guidance for local partnerships engaged in workforce development. The Unites States Probation Office in the District of Delaware has embraced the philosophy that employed offenders are more likely to become successful ex-offenders. The probation office intends to utilize all available resources to help an offender secure gainful employment. The probation office is in the process of developing meaningful working relationships with a variety of local government, community-based, faith-based social services agencies, educational/training programs and employers to provide an offender with a myriad of opportunities for job success.
